Liven up your living room

Tuesday, 14 February 2012 11:05 AM

With the days becoming lighter, now is the best time to say goodbye to drab winter and liven up your living room.

The easiest way to revamp one of the main rooms of the home is with a new sofa, armchair or feature piece.

Manufacturers Scandinavian Stressless produce beautiful furniture pieces that are both bold and comfortable inclusions to the living room.

Cerise is the new colour of the season and the deep pink hue makes for an ideal standout piece.

The colour was picked after designers from Norway attended seminars around the world investigating colour trends and after one year came to choose cerise.

Pictured are the space chair and jazz recliner in this new colour option.

Think of tying them into the room with a new cushion of a similar colour, fresh flowers in pink hues or a canvass which pulls the colour from the chair and livens up the space.

If cerise is too rosy for your palette try indigo blue, another statement colour that can be tied in with the pieces you already have in the living room.

Chairs and recliners look fabulous in leather but are also on offer in other fabrics and colours.
