Rugs to be coveted

Wednesday, 22 February 2012 11:41 AM

If you want one piece to change the look of a room and become a focal point for guests, take a look at these rugs.
The collection from Felt is sure to be coveted by many.

Bold designs and colours make every rug a statement but it is the story behind the decorative pieces which make them exclusive.

Each rug in the new collection is imported from Kyrgyzstan, located in Central Asian bordering China.

The rugs are said to be produced by nomadic people who hand make each one using a tough felt base and sewing it with the geometric patterns.
These wool rugs have been made for thousands of years and are called Shyrdaks.

Each takes between ten and 20 days to complete and Felt is operating in what is called ethical commerce in order to provide government accredited work for the people of Kyrgzstan.

Rugs are available in pairs each with different colour combinations.
There are bold red prints and neutral-coloured designs to suit every room.

There are small to room-sized options and a range available for walls.
You can also buy a trio which is ideal for large rooms.

These wool rugs are both exotic and ethical and come with a fantastic story.
