Control rubbish in the kitchen

Friday, 17 February 2012 4:37 PM

According to the Recycling Guide nine out of ten people would recycle their waste if it was easier.
But usually a home recycling system consists of an overflowing garbage bag and a pile of recyclables littering the kitchen.

Rubbish is bulky and annoying but there is an easy way to keep control of the waste build-up and stay green.

Krushr is a British-designed waste disposal unit launched only in January.
It looks just like any other drawer in the kitchen but opens to reveal a variety of useful compartments.

The most unique element to this waste sorting and storage device is its ability to compact rubbish.
It can crush waste by up to 75 per cent making it only a fraction of its original size.

"With the balance shifting from general waste to recyclable materials, homes are struggling to find the space to store everything in a neat and hygienic way,” Vic Sinclair from stockists John Lewis said.

Once rubbish is placed inside simply press a button and shut the drawer and the Krushr will compact the rubbish.

There are several models available to tailor it to your kitchen space.
