Outdoor pieces with contemporary design and use

Monday, 20 February 2012 4:14 PM

There was always going to come a time when green thinking met with design to create something both artistic and useful.

Well the Elliott Collection has done this to create a unique garden piece that catches and stores precious rain and makes it easy to redistribute the water to your garden.

The collection is created by Tom Curtis for sale through Indian Ocean.

The most striking piece in the collection is the water catcher which looks more like a decorative sculpture than an eco tool.

But the catcher can be left outside to fill with water during any down-pour.

Through a rocking motion the catcher makes it easy to pour the contents into a pot plant or watering can to be used on the garden.

The rocking means it is unnecessary to lift the weight of the water and makes it is suitable for use by everyone, no matter what your strength.

Another interesting piece in the collection is the nest of tables.

It is stackable for storage yet easily pulled apart for functionality.

The angular design uses timber and stainless steel to create a clean and contemporary look.

It is ideal for outdoor entertaining during the soon-to-come spring and summer party season.

This outdoor area needs a revamp.
